Made In The U.S.A.

What happens in BelleVegas…

In Resources on February 12, 2009 at 9:50 pm

Dan followed up our flower exchange by pointing out several actually-Belleville-made items that one can shop for in person or via the Internets:

Sole Survivor – Leather goods. “Sole Survivor Leather manufactures leather belts, and small goods, owns and operates four e-commerce stores, and one retail storefront in downtown Belleville, IL”

Circa Boutique – Clothing, jewelry and gifts. “We carry a mix of uniquely designed items relating to fashion, accessories, paper products and items for the home.  We strive to carry hard to find brands and conversation pieces.”

Belleville Shoe – Military boots. “Belleville footwear can also be purchased at AAFES Clothing Sales Stores worldwide; at selected Navy Exchange Stores (NEXCOM) across the U.S. and at U.S. Base Service Centers for all branches of the U.S. Military.”

Empire Comfort Systems – Fireplaces, heaters and grills. “Empire Comfort Systems is a manufacturer and does not sell heaters or fireplaces direct to consumers.” They will, however, point you to a whole mess of local dealers via their web site.

For a whole list of Belleville stores, check out the Belleville First web site. I recommend picking up a BelleVegas shirt from Beatniks.

  1. Hi,

Jesse here from Sole Survivor. Thanks for supporting american made and mentioning us in your blog. If you find yourself in need of a belt and want to order one online from us you can use coupon code “200910” for 10% off your order at http://www.leatherbelts.com.

  2. Courtesy of reader Dan (or Crystal; I can’t tell, because they share an email address sometimes) just came this addition to my “Built in Belleville” list. It comes from Sauce magazine:

Sidle up to a bar table by Belleville artist John Wegrzyn. The History of Rock ‘n’ Roll high top comes with either a chrome or black aluminum base. It may take up to a few weeks to fill an order, but an expansive collage of landmark album covers makes this conversation piece well worth the wait.
History of Rock ‘n’ Roll bar tables (end tables and coffee tables are available as well)
Where to get it: Pizazz, 6254 Delmar Blvd., St. Louis
    Info: 314.863.7709 or http://www.pizazzontheloop.com
